…a Great Blue Heron pellet. Yeah, I know gross (but fascinating too). I picked it apart… it was pretty much all gopher fur and a couple insect exoskeletons.

So they can digest gopher bones, but not fur? I had no idea. I had thought they mainly ate aquatic animals. Thank you!

Me too, didn’t realize they did pellets but it makes sense. I suppose they get rid of fish bones the same way. And nice to see your work again Walter, we missed you.
