Hornbills

In the forests near Lake Manyara a Silvery-cheeked Hornbill sits for a portrait.

They are tremendously charismatic birds and we watched them foraging for crabs in the undergrowth.

In the Serengeti an African Grey Hornbill keeps a watchful eye for movement in the tall grass.

It comes away with an insect. A small but important meal nonetheless.

Back at Manyara, a Crowned Hornbill calls to its mate.
