A Song Sparrow works tirelessly to feed its gargantuan chick, a Brown-headed Cowbird.
The chick begs relentlessly and follows the sparrow’s every move.
You can barely see the Sparrow eclipsed by the well fed Cowbird chick.

That top photo is a beauty! I recently saw a junco feeding a cowbird chick and was amazed at the comical absurdity of it.

It is a strange sight. Thankfully that phase only lasted a few days. The cowbird chick is now foraging on its own, and the sparrow can rest.

hermosas fotos!!! me gustan mucho :).
Me gustan por el hecho de la naturalidad, de lo simples que son .
Cosas que uno puede ver tranquilamente, pero no se detiene a observar lo que serian por ejemplo unos simples pajaritos comiendo :S

I’ve often wondered- will this cowbird have a thing for song sparrows now, seeing it was raised by one? You see cowbirds hanging out with other cowbirds, though.
